THE PURPOSE I’ll get to the point. I care about people. Simple. I want to help others do well in every aspect of their lives and it frustrates me when I hear of stories and situations when people suffer or struggle. I have this weird thing about myself where I try to fix everyone’s problems. Over the years I’ve been in heavy brain busting thought trying to figure out ways that I can help people on a large scale. So, in late 2018, I started the Grind Life to become a vehicle of knowledge, wisdom and motivation to help others achieve their goals. Now I’m dedicated to spending the rest of my life looking for unique ways to help people succeed in whatever they want to do through the disciplines learned from fitness, coaching, and corporate America.
MY HEALTH AND FITNESS JOURNEY I’ve always played Sports growing up but I never had the size, discipline or determination to make it in organized sports. I loved basketball. I played almost everyday, but looking back, I was malnourished, I had low self-esteem, and I had no idea how to train myself to get better in the sport to play for my high school years.
My lack of self-esteem and confidence carried into college and I struggled to live with a strong sense of purpose. I had a lot of goals to be successful in life, but I didn’t put in the work required to achieve those goals. I started working out consistently around 20 years old but it took awhile to see results. I often felt discouraged with my slow progress, but I kept pushing forward. In 2010, I started Crossfit at a local Crossfit Box in Central Connecticut. The experience changed my life! I started focusing more attention on improving my nutrition, getting better sleep, and making other lifestyle changes that would help me recover between workouts. I began to see my physical health from a different perspective and I soon fell in love with Health and Fitness.
After over a decade of consistent weight resistance training, cross training, and sport, I have transformed physically, mentality and spiritually. I’m more confident and disciplined than I have ever been in my life and I’m happy to say that at the current age of 35, I am the healthiest I’ve ever been. I’m excited for the opportunity to help as many people as possible achieve similar goals for themselves.
On a personal note, I’m a Christian, Husband and Father of a little girl, striving to be the best man I can be for my family and for others in the world that I connect with. I have over 14 years of experience as a Project/Program Manager in the health insurance industry, I’m a NASM Certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, and a student finishing coursework in my pursuit of a bachelors degree in Health and Wellness from Ashford University (2021 Expected).
